This is one of our favorite substitutes for weeping cherry. Light pink flowers are followed by green foliage on a rippling branch structure.

MATURE SIZE: 12’ TALL X 10’ WIDE
ANNUAL GROWTH: 6-12”
SPECIFIC MAINTENANCE: REMOVE SHOOTS AT BASE OF TRUNK IN EARLY SUMMER. PRUNE AND TRAIN FOR UPWARD GROWTH OR OTHER SHAPE IF DESIRED.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE: REGULAR WATERING, STRUCTURAL PRUNING (EVERY 5-10 YRS), ANNUAL BALANCED FERTILIZER (MAY-JUNE, SLOW-RELEASE), PROTECT FROM DEER.

Benefits:
Spring flowers & fragrance, reddish summer foliage, orange fall color, great cold-hardiness, wind tolerant, no significant disease or pest concerns, soil adaptable. Better growth rate than Royal Beauty Crabapple.
Drawbacks:
Small fruit drops in fall, but since this tree is so small, we’ve never received any complaints.
